announcement

"Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary." Luke 1:26-27 NKJV

The plane of God for our salvation.

Gabriel the angel was in charged to go to a certain city at a certain time, which was at the sixth month of the pregnancy of Elizabeth with her son john the Baptist, the barren wife of Zakaria the priest. Gabriel came to a certain virgin who dwell at a city of Galilee named Nazareth. This means that every thing about the story of salvation has been planned. We must trust that God has planned everything related to our salvation and nothing related to our salvation occurs accidentally.

Why st. Mary is the favorite among all human race?

St Mary is the favorite among all human race. She is the highly favored one and also she is the blessed among all women. What are the characteristics of the Mother God?

1- She was godly.

She was godly and so the angel called her the blessed among women and highly favored. God had waited until He had chosen this faithful virgin. He assigned her as his mother. God always entrusted the faithful and so she was chosen as He said: "For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.” Mark 3:35 NKJV

2- She is the humble.

She was troubled at the saying of the angel. She was not troubled because of his appearance, but because of his saying. I mean that she was troubled because the angel praised her. Some people rejoice when others praised them, but St. Mary did not because she was humble, however. This why she became worried at the angles praising.

3- She had believed in God .

She vowed the virginity and trusted that God accept her vow, so she inquires about how would she get pregnant. Although she did not know a man, she did not protest or argued, but she inquired. When the angel told her that this would be by the Holy Spirit. She trusted at once.

4- She surrendered herself to the Faithul God

She surrendered to God's will although this case did not happen before (conceiving without knowing a man). St Mary answered Gabriel the angel saying: “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” Luke 1:26-27, 38 And the angel departed from her. Many peoples insist to do their will and they do not want to change their mind even after God declares to them not to continue what they planned or they intend to do.

5- She the virgin.

St. Mary is the ever virgin even after she gave birth Jesus. Her virginity was not only because she did never knew a man but also because she was faithful to God. She is the bride of the Holy and she was the true example of holiness. She taught us how to dedicate our heart, our thoughts and our behavior according to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ the bridegroom.

Lastly, Our holy lady St. Mary is the holy icon whom Lord God granted her as a mother and intercessor for all the humanity. Let her prayers and intercession be with us amen.
