How to See the Glory of God

The Miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead was the greatest miracle which the Lord Jesus had performed. This miracle is telling us that the Lord Jesus is The Omnipotent God. The Lord aimed to reveal His divinity so that the attendants would believe in Him as the son of God, as He said: "... that they may believe that You sent Me." He also said to Mary, Lazarus's sister, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25-26)

This is the aim of the Incarnation of God as St John wrote: "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." (John 17:3)

Good Faith is the believing in the Lord Jesus Christ

Some people are wrongly focusing their attention on believing in miracles, expecting and waiting for the occurrence; they forget the Miracle Maker, but our Lord wants us to believe in Him, because He is the resurrection and the life and who believes in Him shall never die. Who believes that Jesus is the Son of God follows Him, loves Him, obeys Him, hands to Him his whole life and all his affairs, and surely he will be upheld by Him.

The fruit of belief in the Lord Jesus

We are strong when we are in faith, but we are very weak when we are not in faith. St. Peter walked on the water when he was in faith but when he looked to the sea, He lost faith in Jesus and began to sink in the water but the Lord Jesus delivered him when he cried for His help. Our belief in the Lord Jesus pushes us always to be steadfast in Him every day by always being in a continual dialogue with Him. We have to struggle to obey His commandments, and to do what is pleasing to Him. David the king and the prophet had strong faith in God. He said about his relationship with God: "My eyes are ever toward the Lord..., for I put my trust in You." (Psalm 25) and also he said "I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved." (Psalm 16:8).

Prophets’ and Saints’ faith

The Prophets and the Saints as Joseph, Elijah, and Elisha have the feeling and belief that they stand always before God and are always in His presence and that He is always with them, so they diligently had struggled to do His well. They had ignored their own well. They had likened the Lord who said: “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless[e] I drink it, Your will be done.” Father Abraham obeyed God and offered his son Isaac as sacrifice to God, so he deserved God’s blessings. The saints who performed God’s well saw the glory of God in their life as a fruit of their faith as the Lord said to Martha: " ... Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?" (John 11:40)

Seeing the glory of God is the end result of faith

Lastly, if you are a good believer in God, Can you answer these questions? Is He the cornerstone of your life? Is He always present in your mind and in your heart? Is He with you from the morning till the evening? Does He have the first priority when it comes to your concerns?

As a conclusion faith is not as simple knowlge without any impaction on your life but, it must affect all your life as it is written:"Now the just shall live by faith;..." Lastly If you are faithfully believing in Him, surely you will see the glory of God in your life.
